Project Goals
Our mission was to create a one-of-a-kind online platform where all aspects of the Ag Coalition lifecycle come together to provide means for effective management and tracking of contracts and transportations.
Project Outcome
We set up a system that allowed farmers, drivers, shippers, and carriers to establish and manage relationships with each other, sign contracts, plan and deliver shipments, track real-time statuses of deliveries, vehicles, and drivers. The platform consists of a web portal, a manager mobile app, and a driver mobile app.
React Native Mobile Apps
React Native was used for implementation of the mobile applications, which allowed building cross-platform apps with a single codebase
Back End Development
The back end was created utilizing the Nest.js framework with GraphQL as a database middleware
Third-Party APIs
Mapbox for map renderings, Auth0 as a SSO for all the components of the platform
Web Portal
Admin portal for the managers where they create and manage contracts, plan and assign loads to drivers, monitor delivery in progress, check available drivers and vehicles
Driver Mobile App
A React Native mobile application where drivers check in when they start working, get directions and routing for the pick-up and destination locations. The app also tracks the driver’s location, speed, and ETA in real time and has built-in instant messaging and notifications systems.
Manager Mobile App
A React Native mobile app where managers can plan, create and assign new shipments to the drivers, get real-time status on drivers, vehicles, and loads. Just like the driver app, the manager app has a built-in messaging and notifications system for easier communication between the parties
Account Management Portal
Admin portal for the account owner to manage subscriptions and billing, company info, users, sites and locations, and vehicles. It also allows the integration and sharing of data with a platform called DGM, which is another product of the client.
Real Time GPS Tracking
Having drivers use a mobile app for the delivery process allows tracking their coordinates without any extra equipment being installed in the vehicle. A manager can monitor the driver’s location, speed, deviation from route, and ETA. All this is used to effectively plan the delivery process and to adjust the process in case of an emergency.
Messaging System
Both apps and the web portal have an internal messaging system where users can send text messages, media, and documents to a company group chat or to individual users.
